Description
Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and are easily distinguished by their bright blue colour. The surface develops a layer of rust when it comes in contact with humidity (air). Rust has a sweet taste and naturally stimulates saliva production. As a result, the horse salivates more and accepts the bit better.
The single jointed bit has a hinge point, which means that the bit transfers less pressure to the tongue.
This version of the Sweet Iron bit is a classic loose ring bit with a thickness of 16 mm.
Note on the colour change of the bit:
Rust changes the colour from blue to silver/grey/brown. If the bit is not used for a while, it may develop a thin layer of orange rust. This can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth.
Note on the fit:
Be careful with narrow jaws! The hinge points can press on the jaws and cause wounds.
