Detailed Product Description:

The Irish Turnout 150 by Bucas is a padded turnout rug for horses that spend plenty of time out at pasture. It combines a durable outer fabric with a medium-weight 150 g filling and a lining designed with your horse's coat in mind. The rug also features practical fastening, surcingle and tail details to help ensure a secure fit.

The outer fabric is made from 1200 denier ripstop material. Ripstop refers to a special weave designed to make the fabric more resistant to tearing. If a small tear does occur, the weave helps prevent it from spreading further. The outer fabric is waterproof, with a hydrostatic head rating of over 5,000 mm. It is also breathable, with a rating of over 3,000 g/24h/m².

Between the outer fabric and lining is a layer of thermobonded polyester padding with a filling weight of 150 g. The silky Dermo-care lining rests against your horse's coat and wicks away moisture, helping the coat dry more quickly after washing or exercise, similarly to Bucas Stay-dry technology. It also helps keep the coat smooth and soft, contributing to its overall condition.

The shoulder darts, a characteristic feature of Bucas rug design, provide a more tailored fit around the chest and shoulders while allowing additional freedom of movement. At the front, the rug fastens with a T-bar and magnetic Snap-Lock fastening, which helps keep it securely in place without the need for hook-and-loop fastenings at the chest. Cross surcingles beneath the belly and attachment points for leg straps provide additional stability.

At the rear, a tail flap provides coverage above the tail. A tail loop and Deluxe tail cord help keep the back of the rug in position.

The Irish Turnout 150 can be adapted to suit different weather conditions and individual needs. Attachment points at the neck allow the separately available Irish Turnout Neck to be fitted for additional neck coverage. The rug also features attachment points for compatible Bucas liners, quilts and cooler rugs. These can be used beneath the turnout rug as additional layers to create a flexible rugging system.
