As a co-factor, zinc is involved in the control of important metabolic processes such as the hormone system or the immune system. It is also important for cell renewal and regeneration. Additionally, zinc can offer useful support while your horse is changing its coat.
Although horse's bodies usually produces vitamin C all year round, it can still be useful to supplement vitamin C to support the immune system.
Derby's Zinc + C consists of a tasty basic recipe to which brewer's yeast has been added. The organic zinc with vitamin C is well absorbed by the metabolism and can help to compensate for a ration-related deficiency.
Feeding recommendation:
(Daily information in grams / day as a supplement to non-vitaminized and mineralized rations with sufficient roughage to compensate for the zinc requirement)
- Horses (600 kg) - 25g / day *
- Ponies (300 kg) - 15g g / day *
* Please calculate your horse's zinc needs from their base feed (roughage / concentrate, possibly pasture content) before deciding if using this supplement is necessary.
